Nurse Manager/RN4HN

Horizon Health Networks has an immediate opportunity for a full time Nurse Manager. The successful candidate will work in partnership with other departments, agencies and professional team members of Horizon Health Network. The Nurse Manager provides leadership and assumes responsibility, authority and accountability for nursing practice and delivery of care to patients and families for the 3 East Surgical Unit. Their responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the unit’s functioning in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and policies of Miramichi Regional Hospital.

Qualifications:

• Current active membership in NANB.

• Bachelor of Nursing Degree.

• Certificate in Nursing Management or equivalent desired

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) and yearly recertification.

• Minimum of five years clinical nursing experience of which 2 years are in a Surgical Department.

• Progressive nursing experience in which leadership ability and competency as a practitioner of nursing have been demonstrated.

• Minimum of two years progressive experience in a supervisory and/or management role.

• Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

• Demonstrated leadership skills.

• Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills.

• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.

• Demonstrates good judgment and problem solving abilities.

• Ability to establish effective working relationships.

• Possesses good analytical skills.

• Able to function independently.

• Ability to perform the duties of the position.

• Demonstrated adherence to legislation and Horizon Health Network Miramichi Policy to ensure all patient, business, financial and employee information is accessed on an as need to know basis.

• Patient safety is a critical aspect of quality healthcare. Successful candidates must be accountable for creating a culture of safety, working as a team, communicating effectively and responding to adverse events.

• Written and spoken competence in English is required
