Medical Laboratory Technologist/LT-02

Horizon Health Networks has an immediate opportunity for a part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and specialized testing and related duties using established departmental procedures, as required for the overall operation of the laboratory service. Presently providing coverage on all shifts in general laboratory but may change in accordance with the department work schedule.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technology or Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BSMLS), licensed and in good standing with the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists and certification with The Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
Demonstrated adherence to legislation and Horizon Health Network confidentiality policy to ensure all patients, business, financial and employee information is accessed on a need to know basis.
Excellent previous work experience and attendance records.
Effective communication skills.
Effective organizational skills and problem solving & decision making skills with superior attention to detail and accuracy
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a ‘team’ member, where cooperation and positive energy are demonstrated and encouraged.
Self-directed with initiative, good judgment and ability & willingness to perform all assigned duties with little or no direct supervision (e.g. out-of-hours shifts).
Continually able to effectively concentrate and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to cope with deadlines and unplanned situations.
Possess good listening skills, tact and diplomacy in dealing with physicians, staff, patients, etc
Willingness to work in a constantly changing and growing environment.
Ability to perform the duties of the position.
Written and spoken competence in English is required
