Annual Report

 

We are pleased to present our first annual report of the newly established Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation.

The first year was one of continuous growth and success. The volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of 18 members representing the communities and public that we serve.

The Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation’s purpose is:
"to raise funds in support of the Region 7 Hospital Corporation, including its health centres, for the purchase of equipment; construction projects for erection, extension, or alteration of buildings; provision of care for patients; education and training of professional, non-professional, and technical personnel; and research."

Since inception, the Foundation Board has held 12 regular meetings and 2 special topic meetings. The past year’s achievements included:

  • determining terms of appointment for Board members;

  • writing of By-Laws;

  • establishing its mission statement;

  • implementing Receiving and Giving Policy;

  • designing of logo;

  • hosting annual Gala;

  • completing the process required to attain Charity Number;

  • meeting with hospital administration regarding equipment priorities;

  • committing to the purchase of an echocardiography machine ($250,000)

  • implementing donation/in memoriam cards; and

  • designing a Web Page.

We applaud the community’s generosity to the Foundation and projects supporting the Foundation to allow the Region 7 Hospital Corporation to maintain the highest standards of care. We look forward to the year ahead to broaden and strengthen the network of individuals, groups, and corporations that support the Foundation’s growth.
