COORDINATOR NURSING WORKFORCE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

The Coordinator of Nursing Workforce Planning & Development is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of all strategic nursing recruitment activities. The Coordinator is also responsible for the monitoring of retention patterns and will recommend strategies to improve retention. Nursing Workforce Planning Coordinator will work in close collaboration with colleagues in Nursing Affairs, Organizational Development and clinical programs to achieve organizational objectives.
 

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Undergraduate degree in healthcare or administration related field;

  • Minimum 2 years related experience;

  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a matrix structure;

 

 SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Knowledge of human resource management processes and tools through experience and/or completion of a recognized management program.

  • Knowledge of current and future trends in nursing and health care, including knowledge related to legislation related to nursing and patient care.

  • Advanced business writing skills

  • Presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of mathematical and statistical analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Knowledge of use of social media communication methods.

  • Knowledge of use of audiovisual equipment.

  • Travel within Horizon Health Network required.

  • Good work record;

  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis;

  • Ability to perform the duties of the position;

  • Demonstrated adherence to legislation and Horizon Health Network Confidentiality Policy to ensure all patient, business, financial and employee information is accessed on a need to know basis;

  • Patient safety is a critical aspect of quality healthcare. Successful candidates must be accountable for creating a culture of safety, working as a team, communicating effectively and responding to adverse events;

  • Written and spoken competence in English is required
