Social Worker
Horizon Health Network has an immediate opportunity for a full time bilingual Social Worker/SW-1 to work in collaboration with other departments and community programs to deliver services to substance abuse clients and problem gamblers and their families; offer expertise in the field of addictions by providing assessment, case management, crisis intervention, counselling and referral services utilizing the components of the Outpatient Treatment Model; facilitate and participate in health promotion initiatives by delivering education and prevention strategies to clients of Addiction and Mental Health Services.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor or Masters of Social Work degree is required.

Membership or eligibility for membership in the New Brunswick and Canadian Association of Social Work.

Two years past experience in the field of addictions and demonstrated skills in providing both individual therapy and group facilitation
-
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and the community.

Good previous work/attendance record

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training or a willingness to obtain.

Applied Suicide Intervention Training or a willingness to obtain.

Experience in PowerPoint, preparing and delivering effective presentations

Demonstrated ability to promote community development through health promotion initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to be highly motivated, well-organized and able to work co-operatively on a multi-disciplinary team

Demonstrated adherence to legislation and Health Authority confidentiality policy to ensure all patients, business, financial and employee information is accessed on an as need to know basis.

Must be able to work evenings/weekends if required

Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel; use of a reliable vehicle for transportation as required.

Written and spoken in English and French is required.

Ability to perform the duties of the position.
